I moved out to overtake a truck just past Myrekirk Rd going east. An Astra, accelerating hard from the roundabout, tailgated me and flashed his lights. When I moved back inside, he cut sharply in front of me and braked.
I didn t react at all to this bad behaviour. But a month later I got a visit from the police and found that HE had reported ME for dangerous driving. He had got together with 2 pals and fabricated a story which had him swerving into the central reservation. He said I d swerved into his path to avoid a white van which had broken down in the inside lane.
In his initial report, his car was damaged. But when the case came up, the damage had disappeared.
In Scotland, we do Justice by Numbers - 1 defendant against 3 witnesses doesn t stand a chance. I was docked 7 points and fined £300.
I m still fighting to prove my innocence, but it s not just for me:
Next time he could kill someone!

Driving towards Swallow roundabout on approach to Dundee, in typically heavy queues, while I kept a safe distance from the car in front (overtaking lane), this friendly chap decided it was a great opportunity to dive in front of me without indicating or gesture of request. Taken aback, I decided the inner lane was moving quicker so, safely I indicated and pulled into that lane. As the lane moved quicker than the outer lane, I indicated and pulled back into the outer lane in preparation for my right turn at the roundabout. My position happened now to be in front of the offending driver. This clearly was not acceptable to him and he continued to follow me, tailgating my rear bumper within about 1-2 feet all the way into Dundee. As we approached the Tay Bridge roundabout, he took his opportunity to pull along side, beep his horn to attract my attention and then proceed to express profanities and hurl violent threats and challenges toward me. Clearly not the sort of person you want driving a 2 tonne machine around your children s school - hence his appearance here.
